Uluru - Day 4

For our last day in Uluru, we took a private tour with Trevor (a professional guide) to Cave Hill. It's an Aboriginal sacred site, so no photos allowed. We did have a wonderful day and saw some very old cave drawings, and learned much on the tour. I do have photos from our drive - about 250 Km each way, so here are some photos showing just a little of the scenery we saw during our trip.

We stopped at Curtin Springs Station before turning off onto the dirt road part of our trek. You can get just about anything you need at Curtin Springs:

A couple of kangaroos in the middle of the track ... they didn't hang around long.

And then, we saw some cattle - the land we were on was part of a working cattle station:

Coming back from Cave Hill, we stopped several times to explore.

We also checked out Mount Connor - which is in some ways more impressive than Uluru, but it sits on private land so does not get the same focus.

Beth asked about the tent we had at Longitude 131 - here are a few more photos:

This one is taken from the top of the resort, and shows the rear of our tent and gives you an idea of the view:

From the front of the tent - if you look carefully you can see Lou sitting in his favorite chair:

Inside the room ...

And a couple of courses from our Last Supper at Longitude 131 - prosciutto encrusted barramundi with garlic infused potato-confit, followed by a pear tart (with ice cream!):

  1. WOW! That looks just like the tent we went camping in when I was growing up in Oklahoma. NOT
