Kangaroo Island to Adelaide

We spent our last day on Kangaroo Island enjoying the local sights (we didn't leave the house, except to go down to the beach). Tuesday we headed back to the other end of the island to catch the ferry back to Adelaide.

The ferry wasn't very full, so we picked a nice seat with a good view out the front of the boat.

This photo is important to the rest of the story: We were sitting just left of where the lady is sitting on the long settee - notice the individual chairs in front of the small tables.

The nice lady left - and an American family with 3 kids took her spot (and ours, it seemed!). Two young boys promptly began spinning wildly in the chairs up front - continuing even as we took off and hit the swells - so visualize spinning with a significant up and down motion from the wave action. They were having so much fun! Lou and I just looked at each other, knowing what was about to happen. I think the two shots below tell the rest of the story ...

We survived the "action," and arrived safely into port. I had an easy drive off the ferry (Lou didn't volunteer, Jeannette!). I will say the trailer full of sheep didn't weather the voyage any better than the boys ... the air was not too fresh on the car deck!

Once off the ferry, we had about a 3 hour drive into downtown Adelaide, where we spent the night before heading to Sydney.
