On to McLaren Vale

We took a leisurely drive on Monday, passing through Adelaide once again, then South to McLaren Vale - another wine region and the jumping off point for our trip to Kangaroo Island.

One quick pic from the drive:

After a few hours, we arrived at the Wine and Roses B&B, just outside the town of McLaren Vale. Another great place to stay (Lou gets an A+ for accommodation selections) -

Our room takes up a large part of the bottom floor of the house - and we even have our own carport for the SUV:

The view across the street:

The B&B's we've stayed at are self-service. They have a kitchen, and the hosts provide breakfast foods for you to cook at your leisure (okay, I'll correct that - for LOU to cook ;) ) We've also been doing dinner in, which has been a good change of pace.

Hmmnn, this place must specialize in romantic getaways ... even has a large spa tub for 2! Let me assure you, we won't be going there. The last time I saw Lou in a bathtub was years ago in a Tokyo hotel - somehow he got himself stuck in the tub (which was not designed for a 6'5" guy) after a late night out with the boys ;)

Dinner our first night was a treat - Clive, the owner, has a wood fired grill where he makes delicious pizzas and drops them by the room:

Tomorrow will be a light day of touring to see the sights, then on to Kanagaroo Island the next day.
